About
I’ve been a sysadmin , developer , engineer , and some combination of those words I’m forgetting somewhere as well. I wouldn’t call myself any of those titles or even identify as that. I consider myself a builder - maybe the term hacker is more accurate in the traditional meaning of the word. I like to build things to solve problems. Typically those problems are using something, not liking how it works, and making my own.
This blog is more of a diary of my rantings on tech. Public tech therapy - if you will. It’s definitely not serious and shouldn’t be taken as such. Also it should go without saying none of my opinions or posts here - or anywhere - reflect the opinions of my employer, past or present.
More recently I’ve worked at large media
companies, cloud providers, and security companies. Over the last 10 15 years or
so(old-man-yells-at-cloud.png), I have worked on most major clouds (aws, azure, gcp, digital ocean), and managed 1000’s of on premise servers across the planet with things like kubernetes, chef.
Mostly I write go, terraform/opentofu, a bunch of yaml.
